The talents of varsity athletes and media students will be showcased in a new partnership between Mohawk College and Ontario University Athletics (OUA).
Mohawk will serve as a broadcasting and multimedia hub for the OUA. Faculty-supervised students will edit and distribute sports program highlight packages, produce in-studio and web shows and record live broadcasts for the Internet and cable television, with a focus on mobile content.
The partnership will create hands-on and real-world learning opportunities for upwards of 400 students in Mohawk’s School of Media and Entertainment. Mohawk students will also work with the OUA through class projects and work placements. Students in the college’s Broadcasting -Television and Communications Media, Broadcasting – Radio, and Journalism programs will begin creating multi-media content this fall.
